Commercial radio share increases to 45.2% from 43.2% (and also up from 44.4% last year too) with BBC dropping to 52.2% from 54.1% (and 53.0% last year)
Commercial radio reach goes up by a whopping 1.3 million to 35.6 million (66% up from 64%) helped by new stations of course with BBC also having increased reach by a much smaller 197,000 to 35.1 million – so commercial radio now has 504,000 more listeners than the BBC
As will be expected with the new stations National Commercial has increased reach significantly – by over 1.1 million listeners – to 19.4 million (up from 18.2 million on the quarter and 17.9 million last year); share up to 15.8% from 14.6%
Local Commercial has also increased reach by 724,000 to 27.6 million (51%) (also up from 27.5 million last year too)
BBC Local/Regional lost 411,000 listeners on the quarter and 455,000 from last year with share down from 7.5% to 7.0% (and was 7.5% last year too)
All Radio also saw an additional 864,000 listeners to 48.7 million (48.2 million last year) with weekly reach back to 90% – as it was a year ago but up from 89% on the quarter
Total Global Radio share now at 19.3%, up from 19.1% on the quarter and 17.7% last year with Bauer now at 14.8%, up from 14.1% on the quarter and 13.9% last year
